I’m sorry to hear about the problems with the donate button, and sorry this reply has taken so long (your message got caught by a rather enthusastic spam filter). I suspect the recent changes made by PayPal to their service has broken the button. I will try and fix that.

it is a pleasure to see such an (e)book coming into existence and I really like what I managed to read so far on your blog.

I would very much like to support this project with a donation – and was in fact one of the IndieGoGo supporters of it – but if I click on the donation link all it does is forward me to PayPal’s front page. I have tried this in several browsers in a time span of several weeks and I stumble upon the same issue every time.

If this is a problem on your side, please fix it and let me know; if it is a PEBKAC, I do apologise and humbly ask for directions.
